The numbers shown by our remap calculator are based on real Stage 1 results — not theoretical gains. We tune cars, vans and 4x4s every week across the Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff and South Wales, and we keep our quoted figures conservative on purpose. When you book, we'll write a custom file for your specific vehicle and dyno-test it before it goes anywhere near the road.
Typical Stage 1 gains
Modern turbocharged diesels usually see the biggest gains — often 25–35% more BHP and 30–40% more torque. Turbo petrol engines respond very strongly too, with sharper throttle response and a noticeable shove of mid-range power. Naturally aspirated engines see smaller gains in BHP but feel much more responsive day-to-day.
What about MPG?
Most diesel drivers see a small but real improvement in fuel economy on motorway and steady-cruise driving — typically 2–6 MPG on long runs — because the engine works less hard to maintain speed. Driven hard, you'll use the extra power instead, so your mileage stays similar.

Yes — our calculator pulls from real Stage 1 results, not best-case marketing numbers. We deliberately keep the quoted figures conservative so the actual dyno result either matches or beats expectations.
My car isn't showing in the lookup — can you still tune it?
Almost certainly. The lookup covers most modern petrol and diesel cars, vans and 4x4s, but if your exact variant isn't listed just contact us with your reg number — we can usually source a file for nearly any modern vehicle.
Will a Stage 1 remap damage my engine?
No. Stage 1 files stay within the safe mechanical and thermal limits of your engine and don't require any hardware changes. We dyno-test every file and keep your factory ECU map on record so the car can be returned to stock at any time.
Do I need to bring my car to you?
No — we're a fully mobile service. We come to your home, workplace or driveway anywhere in Barry, Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and across South Wales. The remap is typically completed in under an hour.
Will a remap affect my insurance or warranty?
You should declare the modification to your insurer — many performance-friendly insurers cover Stage 1 remaps with no premium increase. If your vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty, contact us first and we'll advise on the best approach for your specific situation.
