Sometimes you need your vehicle back exactly as it left the factory. Whether you are selling the car, returning a lease, visiting a main dealer, claiming under warranty or simply prefer the original feel, our revert-to-original-software service returns your ECU — and gearbox TCU where applicable — to its genuine factory tune. Because we keep a backup of every original file we read, restoring your vehicle to stock is quick, clean and complete.

When should you revert to original software?

The most common reasons are selling or part-exchanging the vehicle, handing back a lease or PCP car, attending a main-dealer service or software update, making a warranty claim, or returning a company/fleet vehicle. Some drivers also revert simply because they prefer the original driving characteristics. Whatever the reason, returning to stock removes any trace of tuning from the vehicle's running software.

How the restoration works

If we carried out your original remap, we already hold your factory file on record and can write it straight back — usually a quick, same-day mobile job on your driveway. If your vehicle was tuned elsewhere, we can still help: we read the current software, source the correct original file for your exact engine and variant, and restore it cleanly so the ECU matches factory specification.

Will anyone be able to tell the car was remapped?

Once the original software is written back, the running file in the ECU matches the factory tune. Be aware that some manufacturers log tuning events or count ECU write cycles in separate memory; we will give you an honest assessment for your specific vehicle so you know exactly what a dealer can and cannot see before you book.

Can you restore the gearbox software too?

Yes. If your gearbox (TCU) was tuned, we can revert that to factory software in the same visit. We can restore engine ECU and transmission software together so the whole vehicle is returned to its original, un-modified state in one appointment.
