A Stage 1 remap is the safest and most cost-effective way to unlock the performance built into your vehicle from the factory. Manufacturers detune engines to allow for varied fuel quality, climates and service intervals around the world. With a custom Stage 1 file written specifically for your make, model and engine, we recover that headroom — delivering noticeably more power, stronger pulling torque and, on most diesels, improved fuel economy.

What does a Stage 1 remap actually change?

A Stage 1 remap modifies the maps inside your factory ECU — fuelling, ignition timing, boost pressure (on turbo cars), throttle response and torque limiters. It does not require any hardware changes. The result is a smoother, stronger, more responsive vehicle that still uses the original air filter, exhaust, intercooler and turbo.

What gains can I expect?

Gains depend on the engine. Turbocharged diesels typically see the biggest increases — often 25–35% more BHP and 30–40% more torque. Turbo petrols also respond very strongly. Is a Stage 1 remap safe?

Yes — when written properly. Every file we install is dyno-tested and stays within the safe mechanical and thermal limits of the engine. We never run the kind of aggressive boost or fuelling that shortens engine life. We also keep a backup of your original file so the car can be returned to stock at any time.

Will it affect MPG, insurance or warranty?

Most diesel drivers see a small but real improvement in fuel economy on motorway and steady-cruise driving. You should declare the modification to your insurer — many performance-friendly insurers cover remaps with no premium increase.
